Top Dogg Says “Education Can Help Prevent Dog Bites”

Top Dogg Talk Dog Bite Prevention With Fox5 Atlanta’s Anchor Tacoma Perry

Tacoma Perry invited Top Dogg to discuss why and how he started being a Master K-9 Trainer over 20 yrs ago.  To discuss why Dog Bite Prevention Intervention by a Dog Expert is so important it was only fitting that we hauled it straight over to the pre-school to discuss this with the children- since a large percentage of bites occur with children and with dogs that they know.  Check out the Video

Protecting innocent children has Master K-9 Trainer Blake Rashad on a mission.

Rashad says 4.7 million people every year are bitten by dogs, and 70 percent of them are kids 8 years old and under. He says the first thing to teach your children is to not run from dogs.

“Kids will run from a dog even when a dog is not aggressive toward the kid. They just see a dog across the street, and they take off running.” Said Rashad.

Rashad says running sets dogs into prey mode and a dog will chase, just because a child is running.

“Teach kids to stand still, hold their ground. Put their arms over their chest, think positive thoughts. The dog will come up smell you, get bored with you and move on,” Rashad said.

Rashad says big or small, teach your children to always ask permission of a dog’s owner and wait for a response.

“And the person that’s holding the dog should walk the dog over for the pet, and then the child extend his hand out, fingers curled back, wrist curled back, until the dog smells you and then you want to reach around and pet the dog,” said Rashad.  He says tell your children never to take anything from a dog or tease them. Rashad says with a little education big tragedies can be prevented.

Top Dogg Kidz and K9′s Foundation is holding an Event to Bring Awareness to this very epidemic:  Dog Bite Prevention and Safety.

“We use Smokey the Bear to stop forest fires, we said say no to drugs, we’ve got to do something about this epidemic,” said Rashad.

He says never leave a baby alone with a dog, no matter how long you’ve had the dog or how friendly you think it is. Dogs can’t distinguish between a chew toy and a small child.

Imagine Over 390 Dogs

“Worlds Largest Dog Obedience Class”

White Background TD Logo

Each year over 4.7 Million people are bitten by dogs.

The Top Dogg K9 Foundation is a charitable organization that spans the globe educating dog owners, organizations, schools, and children on pet safety, “Dog Bite Prevention and Awareness ”. Each year there are hundreds or children killed by there very own family pet. Sadly a large number of dog attacks stem from abuse and parents not reading the signs of aggression that fluffy is giving.
———- We always teach our kids basic life skills like:
Always look both ways before crossing the street. Never talk to strangers. Never do drugs. And so on… So now lets teach them the skills they need to avoid being a dog bite victim.———-

This may be cute but, it can also be dangerous!!!

This behavior may be cute but can be potentially dangerous or even deadly!!!!
Don’t abuse your dog or use your dog as a sparing partner. You won’t find it cute when your child ends up in the hospital. Lets avoid having children interfere while dogs are feeding, even the sweetest dog could become possessive. Place feeding area in a quite area out of household foot traffic.

We Need Your Help to bring awareness to this silent epedemic.
